Today happens to be no different than any other [insert day]. I'm in a coffee shop on a cozy afternoon making infrequent conversation with the cute girl working on the espresso machine, and am in caffeine enhanced desperation to find an excuse to put off that six sigma assignment due [insert day + 1].
What is perhaps special about today, by the mere aspect of whimsical chance; is that I bring to culmination my (our) prolonged blogging virginity.
Sometimes you wait so long for something, for it to be perfect, that the built up anticipation almost makes the actual occurrence anti-climatic.
Why did we (at least I for one), defer taking on this seemingly obvious step (the blog, duh) ? For one, evidently, everyone's doing it. And maybe its just me, but that somewhat takes away from the creative gratification one would hope to get from it. Banality breeds lethargy, sort of. I mean, it was interesting and special when Aamir Khan came up with this neat way to connect with fans, but now that every random wannabe and has-been in Tinseltown is going at it; laaame.
Not that I'm arrogant enough to exclusively desire the pleasure of being one of a few that have access to such a medium, but being just one of the crowd, never seemed all that exciting either.
Notice also, in the statements above, how the activity has been reduced to a modest 'it'. Case in point.
Then there are the complications of putting yourself out there, which in essence is what we'd be doing if this blog is going to be any honest.
Which puts forth the next obvious question: to what extent?
Am I (we) comfortable with sharing certain emotions, vulnerabilities and the occasional sentimental outburst with anyone with an internet connection ? If I uphold candor in the expression of opinions; would that judge, offend or hurt people? Is it worth upsetting one group, for the sake of another groups amusement? Where do you draw the line between the LOL and the TMI ?
Ah, screw it.
The great, no cross that .. the *legendary* George Carlin would've never been so awesome had he wrestled with these questions too long and kept his thoughts to himself. Nor would some of our lives be so musically fulfilled, had the ever reticent Rahman also decided to restrain his compositions.
So there you go sir(s), I do this bit for you as a grateful token of my fondness of your art.
I(we), perform.

I said to Ashu once that if created, this would be a literary feast, and indeed it is.
Oh be more sarcastic, you.
You have such potential for mockery.
And be more offensive, you.
For offending is an evergreen awesomething.
often times it is our own restlessness that results us in taking those ever so "drastic" steps to make sense of the intricacies associated with the complex life that we live on a day to day basis..
why you blog ? to conquer that very notion.. to make sense out of nothing.. and sometimes its better to go in not knowing any thing at all.. the uncertainty is what is beautiful.. what do you think ?
@Dev: thanks man
@Anonymous 2: I have an inkling of who this is, but then guessing was never a reason to let anonymous posts be. That said, I'll try.
@Siddhi: Interesting take. I wouldn't call this drastic though, more of a creative outlet; if you will. I agree, not knowing is blissful. But I think what we're trying to do here, is embrace the ignorance (read:complexity)

About us
We find ourselves today, at three vastly different cities and institutions of higher learning. What still sustains our friendship though; beyond and despite the lack of geographical proximity, is what I shall simplistically attempt to explain with the aid of a statistical math tool (refer:common ground).
With these pleasantries out of the way; let me further convolute this introduction.
There are nerds, and there are jocks. There are the deeply pious, and the self-righteous atheists. The lost poets in apathetic tees and the narcissistic yuppies in classy 3-piece GQs. The thums up lovers and the connoisseurs of fine wine.
Or as I would like to think of us; both and neither.
There is an oxymoron in there somewhere
For at some point in our lives; we've each played a video game for 9 hours straight, spent a session from midnight to dawn of uninterrupted street football, quoted Nietzshe and then laughed on last nights How I Met ..
you get the idea.
